Saturday, July 11th, 2009: Pirate Gala- Party with the Pirates!  Night of music, dancing, auctions, beer, wine and food.  Admission: $50.00 per person       7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 18th, 2009: Guided Walk of the North Park Trail- Guided nature and historical walk of the North Park Trail.  Free to the public.  Meet at the Lock House of the Susquehanna Museum. Duration: approximately one hour.  10:00 a.m.

Saturday, August 1st, 2009: Annual Havre de Grace 5k Race for the Lock House- Race along the historic streets of Havre de Grace and level trails along the river.  Custom awards.     8:00a.m.

Saturday, September 19th, 2009: Guided Walk of the North Park Trail- Guided nature and historical walk of the North Park Trail.  Free to the public.  Meet at the Lock House of the Susquehanna Museum. Duration: approximately one hour.    10:00 a.m.

Saturday, October 24th, 2009: Spirit Walk of Angel Hill Cemetery- Meet interesting residents of Angel Hill Cemetery, listen to their stories, hear about their ends on this hour long walk.  Admission Fee: $10.00   6:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 7th, 2009: Pirates by the Bay! Visit pirate camps and watch the attacks.  Learn the real history of piracy and its connections to Havre de Grace.  Admission: $3.00 Adults, $1.00 Children ages 5-12, Children under 5 are free.    11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, December 13th, 2009: 37th Annual Candlelight Tour of Historic Havre de Grace- Tour historic homes and buildings.  This is the BEST holiday activity in Havre de Grace.  There is an admission fee. Tickets can be purchased at the Visitor’s Center located at 450 Pennington Avenue.    12:00 p.m.  to 8:00 p.m.

Ellsworth Shank will debunk classic HdG myths regarding Palmer (Garrett) Island and the beginnings of the town.

March 12:  Roundtable Discussion: 
“The Future of Havre de Grace History”

Come enjoy a night of hearty discussion and debate as leading HdG academics David Craig, Robert Magee, Ellsworth Shank, Bill McIntyre and Ron Browning discuss local scholarship, the importance of HdG history and the course of future work.  Moderated by Gary Wasielewski.

April 9:   More than a Vote:  Havre de Grace’s Brush as Capital

Young historians Adam Rybczynski and Kayla Layton will retell the story of the choosing the capital and the near role HdG played in this historic decision.

 

May 14:  “Suffragette Cities”
-Gary Wasielewski

Come march along with the lady suffragettes who walked from NYC to DC through Harford County to demonstrate against the lack of voting rights at President Wilson’s inauguration.
